Interactive Notebook Grades

Each week, the students are given questions and writing prompts to go with the reading lesson. These activities are given grades for both Reading and Writing. The grades are considered formative assessments since it is work leading to the lesson test. I grade the notebooks at the end of each week. The rubrics I use are in the following section.

While grading the notebooks, I rate one writing prompt a week to give specific feedback so students can improve their writing. I use the Fist to Five Scale below:
